In short
Nexthosting offers two web hosting products: Webspace for any kind of website (HTML, PHP, any CMS, and Node.js from Pro upwards) and WordPress hosting, where WordPress is already installed and WP Toolkit, staging and Redis come with every plan. You manage both in the web panel at webpanel.nexthosting.net. Nexthosting looks after the server; you look after your website and WordPress.
Webspace or WordPress hosting?
Section titled “Webspace or WordPress hosting?”Both products run on the same managed servers and use the same web panel. The differences lie in what is included:

WordPress also runs on every Webspace plan. With a WordPress plan you simply skip the setup and get staging and Redis even in the smallest package.

What is included in every plan
Section titled “What is included in every plan”- Automatic backups, twice a day, kept for 30 days, at no extra charge. You can create and restore backups yourself in the web panel. More in Backups and restoring.
- SSL certificates from Let’s Encrypt, issued and renewed automatically. You can also upload your own certificates. See SSL certificates and HTTPS.
- PHP 8.2 to 8.5, selectable per website; the default is PHP 8.4. See PHP settings.
- DNS editor that sets up the most important records automatically.
- Website cloning and DDoS protection.
- Unlimited traffic within the fair-use rules of the terms and conditions.
- Email mailboxes with your domain, plus forwarding. See Email mailboxes.
You choose the included domain (from Basic) from .de, .at, .eu, .com, .net, .org or .ch. Nexthosting registers and renews it for free for as long as your plan runs. The Starter plans are meant for projects that already have a domain.
All prices are final prices. Nexthosting is a small business under § 19 UStG (German VAT exemption), so invoices show no VAT.
Who takes care of what?
Section titled “Who takes care of what?”Webspace and WordPress hosting are managed hosting. That means Nexthosting runs the server, and you run your website.

Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”Can I switch to a bigger plan later?
Section titled “Can I switch to a bigger plan later?”Yes. Write to us via the contact form or by ticket in the customer account. Your websites, databases and mailboxes are kept when you switch. If even the Business plan is no longer enough, a VPS is the next step. More in Changing plans and upgrades.
How long am I tied to a contract?
Section titled “How long am I tied to a contract?”You choose the term when you order: 1 month, 6 months (5 % cheaper) or 12 months (10 % cheaper). How renewal and cancellation work is explained in Contracts and cancellation.
Can I keep my existing domain?
Section titled “Can I keep my existing domain?”Yes. You can leave it with your current provider and point it at your Webspace via DNS, or you can move it to Nexthosting. See Connecting a domain to a website.
Will someone help me move my old website?
Section titled “Will someone help me move my old website?”Yes, for a fee. Our sister brand NextWebSolution transfers files, database, mailboxes and domain and agrees the procedure with you beforehand. You can of course also move it yourself; see Moving a website.
Where are the servers located?
Section titled “Where are the servers located?”Web hosting and backups run in Falkenstein (Saxony) and Nuremberg, together with parts of the infrastructure. Game servers and VPS are located in Frankfurt am Main.
