Cancellation and contract terms at Nexthosting
Minimum terms, notice periods and automatic renewal at Nexthosting under AGB § 8 – for consumers and business customers, with every way to cancel.
In short
There are three contract types: cancellable monthly, with a minimum term, and prepaid. A monthly plan can be cancelled up to 7 days before the renewal day; for longer game server terms 14 days or 1 month apply. Prepaid ends by itself. You can cancel with a button in the customer account, with the form that needs no login, or in text form, for example by email.
Three contract types
Section titled “Three contract types”Under AGB § 8 there are:
- monthly cancellable fixed-term contracts (Laufzeitverträge),
- contracts with a minimum term – the minimum term only applies if it is expressly stated when the contract is concluded,
- prepaid – paid in advance, ends with the booked period.
You see the term, payment interval, renewal and notice period in the order process, in the product description or in the customer account.

Example: game server on a monthly contract

If you cancel later than 7 days before the renewal day, the contract renews for another month, and the cancellation takes effect on the next renewal day.
The 48 hours apply to game servers only (AGB § 8). In general: with a contract, the product is removed on the day the contract ends. So back up your data before the end date. More under Data after the end of the contract.

Ordinary or extraordinary?
Section titled “Ordinary or extraordinary?”- Ordinary (ordentlich) means: with the agreed notice period to the earliest possible date or to a later date.
- Extraordinary (außerordentlich) means: for good cause, without observing the notice period. Both sides have that right (AGB § 8). In the form you give a short reason. Whether the reason is sufficient is checked.
What cancellation does not change
Section titled “What cancellation does not change”- Open invoices for services already booked or used remain due (AGB § 8).
- Add-ons run with the main product and end with it (add-on terms 14).
- A pause does not change term, renewal or notice periods. You can also cancel during the pause (add-on terms 9b).
After the contract ends
Section titled “After the contract ends”For game servers, the right to use the server ends with the contract end, and the server can be suspended from then on. Without renewal or reactivation within 48 hours, Nexthosting may permanently delete the server with all data, configurations and backups (AGB § 8). Back up beforehand yourself. For all other products with a contract, the product is removed on the day the contract ends, and with prepaid a few days after expiry, depending on the term: back up your data before the end date. Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”Can I end a one-year contract early?
Section titled “Can I end a one-year contract early?”Ordinarily only at the end of the minimum term. An extraordinary cancellation for good cause is always possible. A withdrawal only works within 14 days of the contract being concluded – see Right of withdrawal.
How long is my cancellation stored?
Section titled “How long is my cancellation stored?”Nexthosting keeps cancellations made through the form as proof until the end of the third calendar year after receipt (privacy policy). Declarations that cannot be matched to a contract are deleted 90 days after processing is complete.
I cannot find my contract number.
Section titled “I cannot find my contract number.”It is on every invoice and in the customer account. In the form you can, if necessary, describe the contract, for example with the server name or the domain.
