In short
A dedicated server is a whole computer just for you, which you do not share with anyone else. Nexthosting offers available servers from the server auction, with a fixed location and fixed hardware, from €29.99/month (as of October 2026). You install the operating system yourself in a few clicks.
When a dedicated server makes sense
Section titled “When a dedicated server makes sense”A dedicated server (“root server”) gives you the full performance of a whole machine: processor, RAM and drives belong to you alone. That pays off for large projects, many game servers on one machine, databases or services that constantly need a lot of performance. For smaller tasks, a VPS is cheaper and more flexible.

The catalog
Section titled “The catalog”The servers in the “Dedicated Server” catalog come from a server auction. These are servers that are currently available. The stock changes constantly, so a model may be sold out when you come back later.

The location is given in the description of each server. You can see current models, prices and hardware in the shop. There you can compare servers or request advice.
Fixed hardware
Section titled “Fixed hardware”Processor, RAM and drives of a server from the auction are permanently installed. You cannot expand them later. If you need more performance, you order a bigger server and move your data over. So work out what you need before ordering. Support answers questions about upgrades for root servers on request.
Dedicated Deals
Section titled “Dedicated Deals”Under “Dedicated Deals”, Nexthosting offers individual deals from a changing stock. They are often cheaper, but only available in limited numbers. The location is listed with every deal. You can see what a deal includes in its description. You find the offers under Dedicated Deals in the shop.
How does ordering work?
Section titled “How does ordering work?”- You look for a server in the catalog and check the hardware and location.
- You choose the term and pay.
- Once payment arrives, the server is provisioned. This can take up to 24 hours.
- You receive the access details by email and in your customer account.
- The server first starts in the rescue system. You then install the operating system in the customer account with one click.

Your responsibility
Section titled “Your responsibility”As with the VPS: you are responsible for the system, meaning updates, firewall, users and backups. Automatic data backup is not part of the server. DDoS protection: Nexthosting will check and extend additional DDoS capacity on request. Contact support for that.
Contract and cancellation
Section titled “Contract and cancellation”Dedicated servers run for the term you chose, from one month. When and how you can cancel depends on that term and is stated in the order. General rules are under Contracts and cancellation.

Is there a setup fee?
Section titled “Is there a setup fee?”No. There is no setup fee for servers from the catalog.
How much cheaper is prepayment?
Section titled “How much cheaper is prepayment?”With 6 or 12 months in advance, the monthly price is lower. The order shows you how much for each server.
