As of October 2026. Current prices: Terraria in the shop.

Plan Price per month Players (guideline) RAM vCores Storage Backups
Basic €5.99 approx. 8 2 GB 1 5 GB 2
Advanced €8.99 approx. 16 4 GB 1.5 10 GB 3
Premium €12.99 approx. 32 6 GB 2 15 GB 4

Terraria allows 1 to 255 players; you set the maximum yourself. With tModLoader and large mods you need more RAM.

Variant Who it is for
Vanilla the unmodified game; fellow players only need Terraria
tShock managing larger servers: saving characters on the server, protection against cheaters, tools for your community. Plugins go in the ServerPlugins folder
tModLoader mods; every fellow player needs tModLoader in the same version as the server (free on Steam). Mods go as .tmod files in the mods folder, then restart the server

You cannot switch the variant later with a click; contact support (Support).

  1. Open the panel (Opening the panel).
  2. In the startup variables (Konfiguration → Start): world (name, size small/medium/large, difficulty, optionally a seed), player count, password, welcome message, version. Size, difficulty and seed only apply to a new world; a new world name creates a new world, and the old one is kept.
  3. Restart. With tShock, the console shows a setup code at startup; in the game you enter /setup and the code to set up the first admin.
  4. Copy the address and port.
  1. Start Terraria and choose Multiplayer in the main menu.
  2. Choose Join via IP and pick a character.
  3. Enter your server’s address and port, and the password if there is one.

The game remembers recently visited servers under Join via IP. Without a password, anyone who knows the address and port can get in.

Problem Solution
Version conflict Server and players need the same version; set the version in the startup variables
Mods missing (tModLoader) All players need the same mods in the same version
World reset Did you change the world name? The old name shows the old world
No password prompt Check the password in the startup variables

Adjustable up to 255; for guideline values see the table.
