Rent and set up a Palworld server – guide

How to set up your Palworld server at Nexthosting – plans, joining by IP, passwords, PalWorldSettings.ini, admin commands and updates.

In short

Your Palworld server keeps running even when you are offline. You set the name, passwords, player count and community list entry in the panel, and world rules such as experience and capture rate in the file PalWorldSettings.ini. Fellow players join via the community list or directly with IP address and port.

From purchase to your first game
  1. OrderChoose plan and player count
  2. Server startsdownloads game and world
  3. after payment
  4. Copy the addressIP and port in the panel
  5. Connect in the gameCommunity or direct connection

As of October 2026. Current prices: Palworld in the shop.

Advanced €21.99 approx. 16 12 GB 3 25 GB 3
Premium €27.99 approx. 24 16 GB 4 30 GB 4

Slots are not limited: you set how many may play yourself (up to 32 – Palworld does not allow more). The guideline values come from RAM and cores. Palworld needs a lot of RAM – the more players and the bigger the bases, the more.

  1. Open the panel (Opening the panel) and wait for Läuft (running).
  2. In the Startvariablen (startup variables) under Konfiguration → Start, set: server name (up to 64 characters), description (up to 128), server password (empty = no password), maximum players, admin password (generated for your server, can be changed), community list entry and automatic updates.
  3. Restart and copy the address.
  1. Start Palworld and choose Join Multiplayer Game.
  2. Enter the address in the field at the bottom, for example 195.201.57.54:8211 (your IP and port from the panel).
  3. If there is a password, enter the server password.

The file is in the folder Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer. Stop the server, open the file in the file manager (Files, editor and SFTP) and change the values after OptionSettings=(. All settings are on one long line: find the key and replace only the value after it, keeping the line in one piece.

Key Effect Default
ExpRate experience 1.000000
PalCaptureRate capture rate 1.000000
DayTimeSpeedRate speed during the day 1.000000
NightTimeSpeedRate speed of the night 1.000000
DeathPenalty what is lost on death (e.g. All) All

In the panel console you type commands directly: Info, ShowPlayers and Save work there. In the game, you enter /AdminPassword your-admin-password in the chat and are then an admin; further commands include /KickPlayer and /BanPlayer with the Steam ID. If you stop the server in the panel, it saves the world first. At every start it checks for new Palworld versions – after a game update, a restart is enough.

Problem Solution
Players cannot connect after an update Restart the server so that it loads the new version; players update Palworld
Settings have no effect Stop the server before changing them, replace the values in the long line correctly
Server not in the list Wait, check the community list option in the panel, join by direct connection
Lag when many players are on Check the history in the panel, upgrade the plan or use Boost (Extend server and Boost)

Up to 32; the game does not allow more. You set the number.

For a restart at night or a backup before the weekend: Schedules and restarts.
