Rent and set up a Hytale server – guide
How to set up your Hytale server at Nexthosting – plans, subdomain, uploading your own world, game modes, mods via SFTP and backups in the panel.
In short
Your Hytale server runs around the clock, comes with its own subdomain under .nexthosting.app in every plan, and has no limited slots. You upload worlds and mods via the file manager or SFTP, and you find the settings in the panel under the Startvariablen (startup variables) under Konfiguration → Start.

The number of players is not limited; how many can play smoothly depends on RAM, CPU and the world. With large worlds and mods, RAM is the most important value.
First steps
Section titled “First steps”- Open the panel (Opening the panel) and wait for the status Läuft (running).
- Create your address under Subdomains, for example
nordwacht.nexthosting.app. You can change it at any time (Network, ports and subdomains). - Set the server name, player count and further options in the startup variables (Konfiguration → Start in the panel). The panel shows you which fields exist for your game.
- Restart the server, copy the address and port and give them to your fellow players.
How players join
Section titled “How players join”In the game’s multiplayer area, players enter your server’s address – either the subdomain, or the IP address and port from the panel. The developer decides what the menus are called, and this can change with updates.
Game modes
Section titled “Game modes”According to the shop, you can run Adventure, PvP arena, Survival, Creative, RPG and faction worlds, and mini-games (Parkour, Spleef, BedWars, SkyBlock). You activate and configure them in the panel, and you upload your own world data.
Bringing your own world
Section titled “Bringing your own world”- Stop the server in the panel.
- Drag and drop the world as a
.zipor.tar.gzinto the file manager. - Unpack the archive right in the file manager and move the world folder into place.
- Start the server. Your world keeps running even when nobody is online.

You can upload available mod tools and community mods via SFTP or the panel. As soon as the developer publishes new modding interfaces, they can be integrated in the same way. Nexthosting currently offers no one-click installation for Hytale; installation notes for a mod come from its author. More on this in general: Templates, mods and modpacks.
Typical problems
